The 60th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Arts Biennale, slated from April 20 to November 24, 2024, with pre-opening events on April 17, 18, and 19, is set to be curated by Adriano Pedrosa, marking a significant milestone as the first Latin American to helm this prestigious event, and notably, the first curator based in the Southern Hemisphere. Adriano Pedrosa, currently the artistic director of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand – MASP, has a distinguished career marked by numerous curated exhibitions, including “Histories of Dance” (2020) and “Brazilian Histories” (2022). His recent accolade as the 2023 recipient of the Audrey Irmas Award for Curatorial Excellence by the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York, underscores his exceptional contributions to the field of art curation.
