Designed for a New Delhi home, this mandir by Joya Nandurdikar and Amrita Guha, Founding Partners of Untitled Design is beautifully curated and reflects the energy of the entire home. The sacred space of textures and tales is a visceral amalgamation of a rustic stone wall, an antique Pichwai painting of Palitana associated with Jain legends, contemporary furniture from Estudio Campana and a stunning rug from Istanbul. Crafted by Odyssey, the stone wall features engraved scriptures, while two central columns are ingeniously transformed into a monolithic structure of large, organic-shaped granite slabs. These slabs are naturally split and chiselled with precision to carve out niches that cradle deities. Inscribed with mantras the mandir breathes of heritage yet glows with a modern pulse.

Crafted with organic materials, sandstone reigns supreme, forming the platform, backdrop and intricately carved pillars. Anchoring the space is an exquisite centrepiece ‘Basant Raag’ by Studio Smithamoksh. This handcrafted wooden artwork with its nature-inspired colours and motifs, weaves a narrative of spring’s rejuvenation and new beginnings. Together, these elements strike a perfect balance between grandeur and organic simplicity.

3. Ethereal Pooja Enclave By Ground Zero

Encasing this sanctum is a birch wood structure with a beaded pillar and green-tinted fluted glass doors, granting a view of the enshrined deities. 4. Meditative Sanctuary By Studio Design Inc.
Steering away from the normal idea of a mandir, Kunal Khandelwal and Khushboo Khandelwal, Co-founders of Studio Design Inc. craft a divine space for a family not big on rituals. The design is defined by a sequence of concentric arches, gilded with lacquered gold leaf, elegantly framing a blotched emerald travertine onyx wall which serves as a stunning backdrop to the family’s cherished idols. The flooring, made of pristine white Statuario marble with brass inlay stripes, subtly draws the eyes towards the aforementioned focal wall. The material selection and artisanal precision foster an air of reverence and quiet sophistication.

5. Sacred Masterpiece By Neogenesis+Studi0261
