The brand’s history dates back to 1954 when it was established as a manufacturer and exporter of world-class soft furnishings. In 2014, they opened their experience store in Delhi and have steadily carved out a distinct identity as a must-know name in the Indian rug industry!
Qaaleen’s unequivocal goal is to bridge the gap between Indian craftsmanship and modern design sensibilities; to fully tap into the creative potential of a humble weaver’s loom and create ranges of rugs as vast as one’s imagination can stretch! Every Qaaleen rug is made by hand in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh and serves as a meditation on the artistic journey of the weaver: reflecting his thought, and the richness of the history he brings to the loom. In an endeavor to preserve India’s craft traditions, Qaleen has been supporting more than a hundred families of the craftsmen they work with, by providing them with housing, education and various other infrastructural facilities.

To create rugs that endure, Qaaleen has stayed true to one overarching principle for the past several decades – that a pattern should be the foundation of design, cutting across age, time, and style.
