Oriental Living is a Bangalore-based boutique design firm specializing in furniture inspired by the Far East. The brand prides itself on bringing the past into the present, honouring history, and integrating it into the way we live now. Over the years, Oriental Living has also provided interior design services for residences across India.
Founder Manisha Gandhi’s passion for traditional wood, craftsmanship, and furniture that carries a lifetime of stories within it led her to establishing the brand. Born a collector, her family was surrounded by an eclectic mix of fine art and folk, handcrafted and iconic furniture, and other extraordinary objects found worldwide. Manisha lived in Hong Kong and Vietnam for many years. There, she met collectors and artists, a group of legendary Chinese furniture connoisseurs from Guangzhou,Shunde, and Lecong . She then studied craftsmanship, joinery, and history, which she has now managed to bring to India.
Oriental Living’s focus lies on making pieces that can last for generations, celebrating the handmade in all its beautiful imperfection.
