Goa is rapidly emerging as a burgeoning wellness destination, with numerous yoga retreats, studios, and wellness resorts. Set within 3.75 acres of landscaped gardens in the tranquil area of Varca-Fatrade in South Goa, Amaraanth is paving the way for new standards in the region’s wellness hospitality—a much-needed sanctuary for weary souls seeking greener pastures and sunnier skies. Amaraanth answers the pressing questions about how embracing nature and sustainable practices can benefit the environment while nurturing a healthier state of mind—the need of the hour. Through its immersive experiences, it elevates the concept of wellness by committing to local and sustainable excellence.

Getting There:

Tucked away from the main streets of Varca and just a stone’s throw from the lesser-known Fatrade Beach, Amaraanth is a 45-minute drive from the Goa Dabolim International Airport. Goa is well connected to most metro cities across India, and direct international flights are available from the UK, Dubai, Sharjah, and Muscat.

The Architecture Highlights The Value In Adaptive Reuse

The garden estate was once the family home of Shradha Binani from the Braj Binani Group. When it came time to revitalize the property, George Seemon, CEO and Design Director of Stapati, was entrusted with the task. The approach was minimal yet thoughtful: a few enclosures were removed to enhance openness, and new walls were strategically introduced to ensure privacy. The property features three interconnected blocks, creating a cohesive design that seamlessly blends with the lush green outdoors, showcasing a striking harmony between architecture and nature. Subtle and yet impactful design interventions, both outdoors and indoors aided in restoring a sense of calm to the place.

Luxury Suite-Only Rooms That Embrace Simplicity

Make yourself home at the property’s collection of 12 well-appointed suite rooms. For ultimate luxury choose the 830 sq ft ‘Signature Suite,’ which offers a private yard sit-out and an outdoor bathtub. For stunning views of the lush garden and the golden hour,  the 760 sq ft’ Luxury Suite’ on the higher level features a private balcony with an outdoor deck for the bathtub. These suites also include access to a shared lounge drenched in vanilla white, which is the perfect spot to slow down with a book and admire the white sculpture wall by Claymen

Each suite seamlessly connects to an expansive outdoor balcony or yard, further enhancing your connection with the outdoors. The decor exudes a quiet luxury interior– classic yet contemporary– featuring natural elements like rattan, wicker, craft wood, jute fabrics, and glazed stone floorings, creating a harmonious connection with the verdant surroundings. Experience the luxury of ‘Molton Brown,’ a gender-neutral bath and body care line that elevates your in-room experience.

The Culinary And Mixology Holds A Curious Space With Manifold Mission

At Amaraanth Kitchen, helmed by the much-acclaimed Chef Ritu Dalmia, the menu is a delightful mix of cherished Goan recipes and global favourites. The kitchen’s pantry is stocked with a remarkable selection of organic products, sourced from local organic farms, handcrafted cheesemakers, artisan butchers, and sustainable seafood farms. These ingredients are not only delicious but also healthy and environmentally friendly, embodying a commitment to conscious living.

Mornings start with a delectable breakfast spread laid on the communal dining table. One can indulge in regional classics like red rice poha or ‘paniyaram’. For lunch, be sure to experience the iconic Goan thali, a true culinary delight. Vegetarians will particularly enjoy the variety of curries and salads, made with fresh vegetables, and microgreens from one of Goa’s finest hydroponic farms. Chef Dalmia’s expertise in Italian cuisine takes centre stage with dishes like ravioli, risotto, pasta, and pizzas that are sure to evoke Italian vacations.

The Lab by Countertop India, led by Pankaj Balachandran, celebrates local farms, spirits, and artisans. Described an immersive mixology experience, the bartender guides guests through the creative process behind each cocktail. For instance, the Hotel Lobby’ cocktail evokes Balachandran’s memories from his time at the Taj Mumbai, where he guided esteemed guests through a lobby filled with the fragrant scent of marigolds. Another memorable one is ‘Grandmom’s Curry,’ a tasty Goan curry featuring coconut milk that is transformed through a clarification technique. The ‘Red Amaranth’, infused with pickled onion gin and red amaranth—a hyper-local leafy vegetable grown in small batches in Goa—offers a refreshing vegetal note that enhances the flavour, which brings a refreshing note to the drink.
