Established in 1999, as part of a larger manufacturing base, Kanchi was founded by Mother & Son duo – Shobhna & Kunal Mehta, as an experiment to create a destination for extreme design. Their overarching design philosophy reflects deep-rooted classics with contemporary elegance in luxury interior furnishings from carpet to curtains, custom-tailored furniture & accessories to deliver a bespoke experience for both hospitality and residential spaces. Kanchi believes in combining the true essence of luxury living through the communication of colours, patterns, textures & materials thus creating a compounded mood board for any living space and enabling architects & designers around the world to create individual aesthetic designs.
Kunal is a visionary and a core pillar of the brand, while Shobhna holds a key influence and has been a driving force in the brand’s firm footing. Joining the bandwagon is Vibha and her partnership with Kunal goes beyond borders through international red carpet design shows & prestigious platforms facilitating strategic partnerships with brands and designers. Building on the philosophy of being different and always being ahead of the curve, today Kanchi is spread across all cities of India and has strong representation in showrooms and designer stores around the world like France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Middle East, Far East and the USA.
